Portraits by Lisa bio picture
  • Welcome to my blog!

  • I am so glad that you stopped by to see all the day to day fun at Portraits by Lisa! Here you can see some of my favorite photos from each shoot and get to know more about me and my style.

    I specialize in portraits of children and families. It is a specialization that really chose me. I gravitate to children. And they seem to like me too. I am absolutely fascinated by infants, toddlers, and children of all ages.

    When I am invited to take your photos I am honored. This means that you are entrusting me with your memories, relying on me to create your heirlooms--and that is my goal, to give you photos that will stand the test of time. Pictures that your baby's children might one day cherish.

    Look at the work below. See my spirited, modern approach to capturing your closest relationships. And if you have any questions, or you want to book a session, drop a line--I'll be in touch quickly!

This is my new and improved brace, which actually lets me use the camera. But, I...

S, or one sweet baby! {100 frames project}

Last week I spent an extended period of time with S. She is about 7 1/2 months old and as sweet as they come. As far as I can tell she never cries and better than that, whenever you make eye contact with her she breaks out into the full-face smile. You know the kind–the...

my street, part 2 {100 frames project}

Here are the rest of the sample of pictures from my street. Please let me know what you think! I know that this is a departure from my usual portraiture, but it really is helping me to think about the camera more creatively and to try new things. And these will bleed into my portraiture....

my street, part 1 {100 frames project}

This week I decided to choose a larger subject, my street, which is one block long. I took the shots on a pretty grey afternoon. I was waiting as long as possible to see if it would warm up, but as it turns out there was no break in the cold last week. Unfortunately cameras...
